My list for a short trip like that would be Old Faithful, Canyon village, Canyon artist point, Norris Geyser Basin, Mammoth, and the Mammoth Museum. There’s probably enough right there to make a quick trip.
The question I would pose back though is while you are spending your 2 days in Yellowstone do you want more of the tourist type attractions or a true backcountry experience? My suggestions would change significantly if you are looking for the backcountry experience.
We had some friends head that direction. They said it wasn’t that abnormal for this time of year, but I think that’s a pretty good storm.
Welcome to the forum
All I have to say is that is a lot of candy bars!
It’s a fun place to stop if you ask my opinion, but I’d have to agree that it’s pricey. Almost as much to get a car load in there as to get in to all of Yellowstone. It is fun to watch them feed the baby bears though. Good experience for the kids if you’re bringing them to Yellowstone.
The bad news…I slept right through the alarm. Maybe next time right?
You start planning early! Although I guess to get a cabin or something in West it might be too late for some summer days.
I wonder if those geese are headed back south yet? With all the big snow storms forecast for Yellowstone this week.
I think my favorite is “Don’t eat yellow snow”. Think there is much yellow snow in Yellowstone?
I haven’t been having any problems checking the weather.
Those are fun. Didn’t know you were an “artist”
It never gets “old” <- Good one huh?
Does anyone else think that this looks like the silhouette of a bison?
Materhorn or Matterhorn? If it’s “Mater”horn maybe you need some Lightning to go with it. 🙂 I do see the resemblance, a bit though.
I really like the colors in this one. Makes me want to be there.
I love the picture of the elk sitting by the school yard. That is too funny. The sheep looks really good too. Finally, somehow you made a raven look good. Very rarely do I ever think that.
